Support from Andrew Jones MP

Voices for the Library collects testimony from those who value libraries. We’re pleased to present this statement of support from Andrew Jones MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough.

“I would like to offer Voices for the Library my wholehearted support. The website provides a wealth of information to help in our campaigns to stop cuts to local library services. Libraries are at the heart of many communities. There are examples of local authorities that have preserved their library services and we need to do all we can to ensure that other local authorities follow suit.”

Mr. Jones is working to support libraries in his constituency by talking to councillors, spreading the word about library closures, and starting petitions to save local libraries much loved by the community.

We hope other politicians will follow Mr. Jones’ example and defend libraries against closure.

You can see Mr Jones’ statement, and those from our other supporters, on our statements of support page. If you’d like to show your support, you can do so here – over 200 people have already done so, and told us why libraries are important to them.
