Three years ago a group of us were moved to come together and launch Voices for the Library, an attempt to address some of the misconceptions about public libraries and librarians and, in time, to highlight the various library campaigns across the country. Whilst we’re proud of the work that we have done, we also greatly appreciate and give thanks to every single person who has contributed and supported us over these past three years.
We called ourselves Voices for the Library because we wanted to give every single person who cares about libraries a voice. From library users and campaigners to everyone who works in libraries, we hoped this would be a space for people to share their passion and underline the importance of the service.
So from all of us to all of you, many thanks for the guest posts, retweets, messages, ‘likes’…we appreciate every single one and genuinely couldn’t do it without you.
Finally, please do keep sending your stories to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Every story is so important and so valuable in demonstrating the importance of our public library service (indeed, many of these stories helped us when we made our submission to the select committee inquiry into library closures), we cannot emphasise enough how important your stories are.
